COmpact ROundish Technician = COROT, which literally means small and round technician, is the concept behind this lure. The hip-up shape of the body deliberately reduces the roll of the belly hook, which reduces the sideways movement of the belly hook and improves the snaglessness of the lure when it contacts cover.
When cranking the lure on a straight retrieve it can be used in shallow range, and on a slow retrieve it can handle waking on the surface. Despite its cute appearance, the shallow crank is designed with practicality in mind. If you focus on the concentration of mass, the shape of the ball will naturally come closer to the ball.
Just like a baseball, if the shape of the lure improves the long throw and accuracy without relying on the internal structure, it is inevitable that the lure comes closer to the ball. It goes without saying that the lure has excellent accuracy when it is converted to a crank bait. Short to mid-range accuracy casts with a comfortable casting feel.
The Korot SR has a hip-up shape with the tail facing up. This reduces the rolling action and makes the action more wobbly. The reason for the reduced rolling action is to prevent the belly hook from swaying outwards for snagless action. A byproduct of the hip-up shape is a smoother diving trajectory.
Especially when a bass is chasing the lure, the lure has a smooth ascending trajectory before reeling in the lure and the action does not break up, so when a bass is chasing the lure, the hit rate at the end of the lure is increased. We have adopted the #6 hook for both front and rear of the Korot SR.
This is because a fat body with a wide body needs a certain hook size to hook a bass. However, if you set the #6 hook on a short body less than 50mm in total length, the hooks will usually tangle with each other. In the Korot SR, we have made the belly and rear part of the lure’s eight cans transverse to avoid tangling of the two hooks.
The hooks are made of chemically-polished black nickel treble hooks that are straight and have a very slight pointing inward.
